Weber Kettle

Weber Kettle

The Weber Kettle is the most commonly use barbeque grill around and it comes in several different models and sizes from 18 inch to 26 inch. For many people, the Weber Kettle was their first grill and over the years Weber has gain some loyal devout customers. The different models of the kettle are:

Weber Smokey Mountain

Smokey Mountain

The Weber Smokey Mountain is bar far the most versatile of the Weber grills in our opinion, you can smoke meats as well as cook direct. This model is also very popular by competition cooks on the barbeque circuit like Harry Soo, of Slap Your Daddy BBQ . Sometimes called a “bullet smoker” or a “Water Smoker” depending on the area of the country you’re in, keep in mind people are referring to smokers styled like the Weber Smokey Mountain (WSM). It comes in three sizes, 14, 18, and 22 inch with the 18 being the most popular among cooks.

Weber Rapidfire Chimney Starter

Weber Chimney Starter

Those serious about barbeque are said to avoid charcoal lighter fluid! Think for a moment of any time you had some Q that tasted like lighter fluid. Now, think of eliminating your barbeque from that equation. Well you can with the Weber Rapidfire Chimney Starter. Weber’s chimney starter makes starting your charcoal a snap. It also cuts down the amount of time it takes for the coals to get ready. Just load up the extra-large canister full of coals, light up a fire starter cube (see below) or crinkled up newspaper, and set the canister over the flame. In a matter of minutes the coals will be red-hot. Who ever thought it could be so easy? I’ve been using a chimney starter for years and paid $25 for mine but I’ve found them for $14.99.

Weber Char-Basket

Weber Char Basket

Weber’s Char Baskets allow you, the cook, to have better control over temperature and the hot areas in your grill in cases where you’re setting up 2 zone cooking, direct heat and indirect heat cooking areas on a Weber Kettle. This gives you the option of not having charcoal just dumped in the bottom of your grill and fighting to control your temps and cook time. See the Weber Char-Basket.

Weber Firestarter Cubes

Fire Starter Cubes

These wonderful cubes work hand in hand with the Rapidfire Chimney Starter. Usually chimney starters require you to use crumpled up newspaper in the bottom of them to get your coals going. Well, these cubes are non-toxic and will light even when wet helping you to get your coals lit faster so you can get started cooking sooner. I’ve seen these as high as $24.95 in some places but you can get a box of 24 for less than $3.50.

About Pigskin Barbeque 80 Articles
Just a regular guy who loves to barbeque. Married father of two. I developed a love for grilling as a child watching my dad grill. My love for BBQ, using wood and the "low & slow" method came after I purchased my first horizontal smoker in my 20's.

  1. I agree Weber and BBQ go together well. They still make a quality product at a reasonable cost. I have their 18″ Silver Kettle and the 26″ Kettle, the chimney…the charcoal baskets…several of their grate cleaners….and on and on. My Weber grills are a great companion to my Big Green Egg….love them all.
